Interweaving
Rooted in the belief that we understand the world through experience, Interweaving uses textile processes to explore complex ideas, relationships, and situations. Working with materials offers a way to think, feel, and make sense of how lives, stories, and ideas connect.

The process of weaving is central to the practice. As threads cross, pull, loosen, and hold, they reflect how people, experiences, data, and narratives overlap and interact. What is made becomes a response to these relationships, using the language of textiles to communicate stories and information in a tangible and accessible way.

Interweaving works with individuals and communities to explore stories that are often difficult to express through words alone. Through textile-making, supportive spaces are created for reflection, conversation, and connection. This work includes participatory workshops, research-led projects, public engagement, and collaborative commissions. Alongside this not-for-profit work, Nicola Moody also operates an independent artistic practice as a sole trader, creating artworks for exhibition and sale, and delivering paid workshops and commissions.

In an increasingly digital world, making together offers a way to slow down, foster empathy, and build meaningful relationships. Through Interweaving, Nicola demonstrates how textile practices can deepen understanding, encourage learning, and strengthen community.
